"IF CHRIST DID NOT DIE, HE CANNOT BE RAISED."

I have probably told you a nearly infinite number of times that in order to appreciate Easter on March 23 , you really need to got o church on Maundy Thursday, March 20.

On Maundy Thursday we remember Jesus' Last Supper and we share communion together. On Maundy Thursday we remember his taking on the role of a servant by washing his disciples’ feet as we wash one another’s hands. On Maundy Thursday we

remember his trial, the scourging, the beating, the slapping of his face, the crown of thorns. On Maundy Thursday we remember his carrying the cross, his stumbling, and his having another carry it for him a bit. On Maundy Thursday we remember his agony on the cross, his feeling of separation from God, his feeling of being cursed. On Maundy Thursday we remember all of that.

How else can we understand a Risen Lord, who on Easter, has nail marks in his hands and a wound in his side.

The Peace of Christ be With You,

Pastor Casey
