Musical Ministries

Choir

Sanctuary Choir: The sanctuary choir performs a variety of music styles (from traditional hymn-based singing to contemporary praise anthems) from August through May during the 9:15 service.  The choir is comprised of voluntary singers of all ages and experience levels.  Although prior vocal experience and/or music reading ability are helpful, it is not required.  Many choir members learn to read music after first singing "by ear".

The choir practices on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM, and rehearsals usually last about 45 minutes.  On Sunday mornings, the choir "warms up" at 9:00 AM before the 9:15 AM service.  The choir is always seeking new singers who feel called to "make a joyful noise unto the Lord".

Praise Band

Praise Band: The praise band performs various musical styles from Southern Gospel to Contemporary Praise and Worship Music from August through May at the 9:15 Service.  During the summer months, we perform on a "make-it-when-you-can" basis.

We are a blend of volunteer musicians of all ages and experience levels.  Our only requirement is that love of praising the LORD.

Often the Praise Band is a learning experience for all.  At times, we do sing arrangements in stand vocal parts, however, the far majority of the time we use "lead sheets".  The gift of harmonic improvisation is a remarkable blessing, but not mandatory.

The praise band practices on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary for approximately one hour.  Each Sunday morning, we try to “warm-up” at 8:30 a.m.

We are always open to new musicians and singers that love to "make a joyful noise".
