Junior / Senior High

Junior/Senior High Small Group: This group is made up of Junior and Senior High youth (grades 7-12). The leadership of Junior/Senior High Small Group operates with the knowledge that most student participants have at least a little understanding of the Bible and Christ. Our goal is to expand on that knowledge so that the youth can begin to grow their faith and share their faith with others. By going on outside trips and missions, the youth meet other youth for Christ and develop lifelong friends.

It is expected that the individual will come to as many youth activities as possible (currently Sunday school and other outside activities as planned) and participate in the activities.

The children’s ministry here at 1st Pres. is full of excitement in more ways than one! Each week, the kids are learning something new and fascinating. In Children’s Church, the kids learn about different topics such as respect, love, friendship, and the list goes on. These teachings do come with a message from the Bible. This also holds true for Sunday school. We have two Sunday school classes, a younger class and an older class. In the younger class, we are using the Presbyterian curriculum “Wee Believe.” Each week, the kids are learning about a different person from the Bible. They learn about who that person was, what he or she did, and what was so special about him or her. The older class is currently learning about the Psalms. They enjoy doing word puzzles as they learn about what each Psalm is about and why it was written. So, come join us in the children’s ministry! You never know who or what you will learn about!

Mother's Day Out

Mother’s Day Out (MDO) Program – A ministry of the church involving paid staff and volunteers ministering to children 8 months to pre K as well as to their families.  MDO is currently offered as a 2-day program on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  It coincides with the Pearland ISD schedule with regards to holidays and in-service days.  Our hours of operation are from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

We truly believe that children are a blessing from heaven and do not take lightly the task of caring for and nurturing them.  At our program, there will be the Pastor, teachers, or volunteers who will pray over your child each week.
